I created a new section on the blog, called “Travel and Stuff,” based on advice I received from my mastermind group. I was getting in a funk with the blog, and they recommended I start writing about my family and our trips that we take. Sharing where we go, what we do, my plans, etc.
Now, Vince has been telling me to do this for months…but I ignored him because that’s what good wives do. Lol, no. He gave me this advice a while ago, but for some reason, it just clicked when I heard it from someone else. Of course, Vince is somewhat irritated that I am doing this now because THEY said to. But, I like to think of it as just needing 2 signs from the universe.
Anyways, I’m a Type A personality when it comes to travelling. I research the hell out of things before doing it; reading reviews, finding out deals, etc. And, for big trips, I get somewhat crazier. Like I make spreadsheets and binders kinda crazy. Not that I am a stickler and we can’t veer from my plans. But I like to have a sense for what we are doing and not just “wing it.”
Plus, I get super annoyed when I get asked “what the plans are” for the day. That’s one of the downfalls of being the planner. You get asked constantly what’s going on, what time are we leaving, where are we going for dinner, what’s next? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! Stop asking me questions!
So, I started printing binders with the plans to avoid the constant harassment. Not for small, weekend trips. Just the biggies. It’s been a welcomed addition.
So, this section of the blog will cover the trips that we make. Be it small weekend stops, little day trips or experiences in our area, or the biggies like our Hawaii vacay or our RV trip we are going to make out west next Spring. I’ll post recommendations, my plans, and little bits about our experiences.
I’m going to go back in time and pull in some of the info from our Hawaii trip and review some of the places we’ve been here in Florida since so many people come here to travel. And, like the rest of my blog, I’m not going to sugar coat shit. If something sucks, like Clearwater Beach or the malasadas in Hawaii, I’m going to tell you. I’ll also tell you some of the thrifty things I do to save some money. Not cheap, dammit…but thrifty….and somewhat sneaky. Not everything I do is legit or follows the “rules”. But that’s what makes it fun.
So, make sure you follow along and sign up to receive email updates. And, if you want, comment below and let me know if you are interested in hearing anything in particular. I’ll take requests:)
This is a incredible idea, and will bring a lot of value to fellow travelers.
Yes, I absolutely want to be included with hearing and seeing pictures during and after your trips. You made me laugh when you said I hate being asked the plans for the day and when we’re leaving lol!!!!? Vince and I are definitely guilty on that one, it’s actually nice having the plans made by someone else for a change.? I’m excited for the future reads!!!❤
Love your reviews, would like any info you give
